The work is devoted to the choice of a rational method for obtaining an imidazoline base of corrosion inhibitors for the intensification of oil and gas production under changing reaction conditions and feedstock. Various variants of two-stage synthesis based on polyethylene polyamines and oleic acid have been studied with varying process duration, reagent injection method, and solvent availability; additionally, the influence of the nature of the fatty acid, the type of amine, and the use of the KU-2-8 cation exchange catalyst has been evaluated. The properties of the products were determined by density, kinematic viscosity, pH, amine and acid numbers, corrosion rate of St3 steel in hydrochloric acid medium, as well as by interfacial tension at the kerosene boundary. It is shown that the most balanced complex of technological and protective characteristics provides synthesis based on polyethylene polyamines and oleic acid with separate reagent injection, the presence of xylene and a duration of 8 hours: pH 11.07, acid number 0.83 mg KOH/g, amine number 330.01 mg HCl/g, kinematic viscosity 189.3 mm2/s, density 0.9794 g/cm3 and a corrosion rate of 0.483 g/(m2·h) in 12% by weight. HCl with the addition of 0.15% by weight of synthesized imidazoline. In the catalytic series, the minimum corrosion rate of 0.450 g/(m2·h) was achieved with a CU content of-2-8 1 % by weight, however, according to the totality of indicators, synthesis without a catalyst turned out to be the most universal. It was found that stearic acid provides a lower rate of corrosion, but leads to a sharp increase in viscosity, while oleic acid allows to maintain fluidity and high surface activity. The results obtained can be used in optimizing synthesis techniques to create safe inhibitory compositions for the protection of oil and gas equipment.
