The process of oil production and field development, which is quite advanced, has undesirable side effects, such as an increase in water cut and the formation of complex-composition sediments. Currently, due to the development of deep wells that require the use of small-diameter pump-and-compressor pipes, the commissioning of large paraffinic oil fields, and the increasing use of in-situ water injection methods during the late stages of field development, the impact of these processes is significantly intensified. The application of water injection methods leads to significant changes in the hydro-thermodynamic and physicochemical (temperature and pressure) characteristics of the wellbore annulus, which degrades the formation’s filtration properties and, ultimately, reduces oil production. This is primarily due to a decrease in the solubility of certain high-molecular-weight hydrocarbons and asphaltene-resinous substances (ARS) in oil and their precipitation, together with the aqueous and inorganic components, onto the surface of the formation’s bottomhole zone, on production tubing (PT) and other oilfield equipment in the form of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD). In addition, the deposition of ASVs on the rock results in the formation of a structured, abnormally viscous boundary layer of film oil with an elevated ASV content. The formation of film oil leads to a decrease not only in the oil recovery factor but also in the filtrability of fluids. At the same time, the volume of film oil in the produced oil is currently growing steadily. The negative consequences of deposit formation, as well as the difficulty of removing and inhibiting them, are related to the structural-mechanical and physicochemical properties of ARPD and residual oil.
