The chemical industry is closely linked to many other sectors of the economy, contributing to the formation of much of the country's GDP. Numerous chemical plants built in the Soviet Union for many years successfully coped with the tasks, providing internal and external markets demand products. However, the introduction of new technologies and developments, Russia's accession to the WTO, the emergence of a fundamentally different products and services requires speedy reform of the industry, technical re-equipment and make it safer.
