The article discusses the specifics of the functioning of innovation networks as a perspective form of providing of innovation activity. Suggested the author 's definition of the category Innovation Network. Considered its subject structure in which highlights the main and supporting members of the network. Systematized the basic properties of innovation networks. Presented typing of innovation networks by the subject of initiation: the user-initiated network and provider-initiated network. Presented in the paper results can be used during forming innovation policy at the meso- and micro- levels. Considered the perspective of forming of innovation networks in the production of composite materials.
