The effect of delta-endotoxin of B. thuringiensis var. sotto 617 on the respiratory activity and the synthesis of ATP (oxidative phosphorylation) in cell culture HeLa (human cervical cancer) has been studed. The dependence of size of the caused delta-endotoxin effect on the concentration and time of exposure on the respiratory activity of the cells. In this case, the greater the concentration of the toxin, the earlier observed the initial stimulation and subsequent inhibition of oxygen consumption by cells. It is shown that, together with the initial stimulation of oxygen uptake, there has been a significant decrease in ATP synthesis . This effect is most fully expressed in the coefficient of phosphorylation of the P / O, the value of which is reduced by the time of action of delta-endotoxin concentration of 100 ug / ml in 10,5-38 times.
