The article reveals the structure of professional information competence of students as a required component of the competitiveness of future teachers. The author gives the definition of the student's professional information competence and reviews in details the essential characteristics of the mentioned concept. In the author's opinion the educational information activities, providing the acquirement of professional information competencies includes the certain components. Besides in the article the pedagogical conditions of the development of professional information competence of students are described.
