The paper is dedicated to peculiarities of strength characteristic calculations for aviation cellular structures exposed to moisture at negative temperatures. The phenomena of water freezing in the cells of the cellular structure has been studied disclosing that in this situation the cells expand only in the longitudinal direction. Dangerous level of water in the cells of honeycomb panels and ice pressure acting on the load-bearing layer of such panels have been found out.
