The free surface energy and its components for the oxidized and non-oxidized metal surfaces in the conditions of selective wetting by test liquids and neutral hydrocarbons are determined. The expressed oil-receptivity of studied surfaces due to their molecular nature is installed. A preliminary thermal surface oxidation does not significantly affect the surface characteristics.
