The paper describes the study of P. mirabilis growth and production of extracellular metalloproteases under modeling glycosuria conditions (diabetes light type). It was shown that addition of 1.5% glucose into a culture medium results in a full suppression of extracellular metalloproteases biosynthesis. Glucose also inhibits bacterial cell growth that could be associated with an accumulation of acidic products in the medium and significant pH decrease of the medium. The presence of urea in the culture medium inhibits the acidifying effect of glucose and enhances extracellular proteases productivity.
