It is shown that NMR-relaxation peculiarities in the samples of moistened cellulose nitrates of different origin are due to the differences in the number of sorption centres (first of all, HO-groups), in mobility and in speed of exchange between water molecules, located in nonequivalent structural-dynamical states, which are determined by the structure and evolution of the polymer`s capillary-porous space during its moistening. Some water molecules, preserving mobility even at low temperatures, can be attributed not only to the hygroscopic water, but also to «neutralized» (chemically condensed) moisture, that appear in the polysaccharide structure as the result of interaction of hydroxyl groups of different nature, including those, which can be fixed in the polymer structure during it nitration.
