It is proposed to use a spectral analysis to explain the pitting corrosion model parameters correlation, taking into account the additional model parameter - “passivating pits proportion”. It is shown that metastable and stable pit generation rates can be estimated at spectral density plots constructed for the area of dynamic quiescent condition and the area of stable pit development. The values of metastable and stable pit generation rates can be calculated by using functional dependences between spectral density and imitation model parameters.
