The article is devoted to the issue of using Russian raw materials to create poreless membranes on fabrics for everyday outerwear. Types and properties of membranes used in the textile industry are briefly described. Particular attention is paid to membranes based on polyurethane foam. In this study, polyamide fabric, Russian manufacturer LLC ‘Balteks' was used as a textile base. To create the membrane, a polymer composition of Russian manufacture was chosen: an aqueous, solvent-free, synthetic dispersion based on polyurethane. The composition was a foamed ready-made paste, which is additionally foamed with addition of cross-linking agent Fixator Si JSC ‘Pigment' just before application to the textile material. Assessment of the possibility of polyurethane dispersion application was determined by the indicators of water resistance, vapour permeability and abrasion resistance of the coating. Technological parameters of the composition application on polyamide fabric were determined. It is revealed that in order to achieve the required indicators of water resistance, it is necessary to introduce a crosslinker into the polymer composition. The introduction of crosslinker leads to the formation of a more rigid and durable polymer structure. To evaluate the crosslinking action, after the curing process, the polyurethane coating was investigated for resistance to organic solvents and mechanical effects. Thermofixation was carried out on a dryer-shear stabilization machine for 2 minutes at a temperature of 170 °C. It was revealed that this type of treatment promotes densification of the coating structure, which is confirmed by the abrasion resistance index - more than 15000 cycles. The impregnated fabric has resistance to organic solvents, acceptable indicators of vapour permeability and water resistance.
