It is shown that increasing the sensitivity of x-ray films exposed with intensifying screens is determined by average sizes of microcrystals AgHal. Each average sizes at a given energy of radiation corresponds to the optimal thickness of the intensifying screens, which is likely to depend on the mean free path of electrons produced by absorption of radiation.
