The status of the German language as the second one was determined. The reasons of the growing amount of those who would like to learn German were analysed. Intensification of training process based on the knowledge of the English language, as well as the contrastive approach which helps to find both similarities and differencies were discussed. The problem of interference was revealed. Communicative goals of training for the German language as the second one were defined. Recommendations for passing examination and earning the certificate granting the right of education and work in Germany were given.
