The curriculum of supplementary education in Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology "The Translator in the Sphere of Professional Communication" is developed and realized. The goal of this program is to teach future engineers to translate. And it includes formation of skills and abilities to search necessary information and finding terminological equivalents. Therefore it is necessary to form mixed groups irrespective of the main specialty of students. The level of proficiency in a foreign language has to be the main criterion of formation of groups. The process of translators in the sphere of professional communication includes the short course of the theory of language focused on translation and a course of the general theory of transfer and cross-cultural communication during which students master translating rules translator’s ethics, learn about culture of the country of a target language.
