Currently there is no single, developed classification system of pedagogical science tests. In this paper attempts have been taken to analyze the functions, structure and characteristics of linguodidactic tests. Having regard to the theoretical propositions related in the paper there were developed quality tests adequately used to estimate knowledge and skills in mastering foreign languages at the Department of Foreign Languages in Professional Communications, KNRTU.
