Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article highlights the mechanisms of music and songs` influence on students` motivation, better acquiring of new material, developing of speech skills, creative and cognitive abilities and lowering the affective filter while teaching a foreign language. Theoretical grounds of using songs as a teaching method are based on works by Russian and foreign linguists and teachers. Examples of practical using this approach in English classes in KNRTU are presented.
