The article is concerned with the phenomenon of negative language interference which manifests itself as translation errors in Russian-English translated texts. The results of the linguistic analysis of research articles on chemical technology written in English by Russian-speaking author proves that linguistic causes of interference are connected with differences in language systems of contacting languages. These differences should be taken into consideration while writing an English version of the scientific paper.
