The article shows the advantage of visualization methods including structural visualization, namely mind maps, at the foreign language classes. They are used by students while preparing their presentations and reports. Creation of multi-authored mind maps by students future engineers allows them to share information, perceive the information of other students, attach their own information to the general mind map and also allows them to visualize multi-authored ideas. Four main stages of mind-maps acquisition by students future engineers are considered.
