The description of the model of academic motivation for designing the course of study has been presented. The model, based on research and theory, consists of five components: 1) inspiration, 2) usefulness, 3) success, 4) interest, and 5) concern. The components of the model have been described by discussing the key concepts, summarizing the background research and theories.
